0 - And So It Begins (Prologue)

They say that mythology has its roots in reality.

Earth is old, about 4.6 billion years. Nexus, too, is old, a billion years, more or less. It has apparently been abandoned nearly that long. It's rediscovery was pure accident. Who knows how many times over the eons it was lost and rediscovered? Who can say with any degree of certainty what role Nexus and its creators have played in human history, myth and legend?

The Etruscan civilization, situated in Italy around modern day Rome, preceded the ancient Romans and was almost historically obliterated. We now know the Etruscans were knowledgeable of the Nexus creators, who call themselves the Trusci, and probably even got their name from them.

There is evidence that certain factions of the Trusci may even account, in part, for the Greek, Roman and Norse mythologies, as can some of the stories surrounding Atlantis and Lemuria. These sunken civilizations are probably mythological, but some artifacts in the regions where they were to have existed still baffle scholars. Oriental mythologies recount the history of great Chinese leaders who performed great deeds. They sound suspiciously like they were, or were influenced by, the Trusci.

Are we the Trusci's progeny, or a result of their genetic tinkering?
